Investigated the properties of adhesion promoters on metal surfaces.

Visiting Scientist, Fritz-Haber-Institut, Berlin, Germany

Determined the intermediates in methanol decomposition on nickel using pulsed field desorption mass spectrometry. Established the phase diagram of carbon monoxide on Rh(110) using low energy electron diffraction and thermal desorption spectroscopy.

1985 - 87

Research Scientist Laboratory for Surface Science & Technology, University of Maine

Managed industrial projects and cooperated in grants dealing with polyimide adhesion in integrated circuit devices. Studied segregation and oxidation on surfaces of solid and liquid lead-tin alloys using x-ray photoelectron and Auger electron spectroscopies.

Characterized the interactions of carbon monoxide with potassium on Ru(001) using x-ray and ultraviolet photoelectron, vibrational, and thermal desorption spectroscopies.

Investigated x-ray photoelectron and reaction properties of model supported catalysts.
