Teach courses on materials properties, methods for materials or surface science and surface characterization, physical chemistry, thermodynamics, and stoichiometry.
My research interests are to determine the chemistry and molecular structure of small molecules bonded to surfaces, the morphology and electronic structure of surfaces, and the role these properties play in promoting or inhibiting surface reactions. The primary focus of my investigations is adhesion promoters, especially siloxanes, on metal surfaces. Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning probe microscopy (SPM), and glancing incidence Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) are are instrumental to the studies being performed.
