- In addition to the SPM lab, Professor George occupies a laboratory
for sensor research. The lab houses the instruments for testing resistive
sensors as well as cantilever sensors. In addition to the test instruments,
the lab houses a system for the preparation, modification and analysis
of thin films and other nanostrustures.

- UHV chamber for film deposition and surface modification
-
- The UHV chamber contains a 3-crucible electron gun for film deposition
and a high energy ion gun for ion assisted deposition. It is planned to
incorporate an UHV compatible scanning probe microscope into the system
for in-vacuuo characterization of nanostructures prepared in the system.
